November 15th update

¡Hola familias!

This week we started our dance residency. Students seem to be really enjoying it. Please ask your child about it.

In Spanish we are continuing to describe a scarecrow.

The phrases we are using are the following:

Mi espantapajaros tiene...

  • un gorro cafe
  • una bufanda amarilla
  • tres botones
  • una camiza roja con parches azules
  • una cabeza amarilla
  • dos ojos. Uno rojo y uno morado
Mi espantapajaros no tiene
  • nariz
  • manos
  • piernas
  • orejas
In English we have continued working on long vowel sounds and started working on adjectives.

In Matematica we are working on representing a number using  different strategies.

In science we are learning about hot and cold temperatures. This week we will be doing an experiment involving insulation.
In Social studies we are learning about Meteghan, an Acadian community.

Dalhousie will be hosting a Scholastic book fair in November, with a virtual and in-person option.  The virtual fair will be active from November 18 to November 28, 2022 inclusive. Please check out the virtual link to preview and explore the digital flyer!  Students will also be able to purchase books and other items (posters/stationary etc.) in school.

We did a preview today. Students will be allowed to purchase items using cash next week on November 22, 23 and 24.

Additionally, the book fair will be open for all families on November 24 from 5pm to 8pm to coincide with conferences.  You do not need to have a conference that evening to visit the book fair.

Interviews:

The next set of Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on November 24 and 25.  If you have not yet booked please do so ASAP, please email me if you need help.

Dalhousie has been collecting donations for Veterans in the last few weeks. We are very happy with what has been accomplished this year.
