Tuesday June 20th update

 ¡Hola familias!

This week in social studies we focussed in a community in the past. The Grade 2s learned about how a school is also a community and we learned about what a school in the past was like. Ask your child about it!

We learned bout antique toys, made a craft candle holder, used chalk on a tablet, identified similarities and differences between the past and present on a venn diagram and tried to write with ink dip pens using cursive writing.
In Spanish we started presenting using our animal puppets.

For science we have added to our creature family in the class and students learned about the larval stage of a mosquito.

In math we started planning a fictitious end-of-year celebration where students need to calculate how much it will cost to organize a party. Each students chooses an item and tallies up the cost.

Today we also started making pom-poms which we will then decorate.
In ELAL we are sharing our Diary of ... stories and continue to read aloud "The Hobbit"

Tomorrow is National Indigenous Peoples Day and we will be doing several activities to learn about Indigenous perspectives.
